Kiteboarding
At Mainbreak Water Sports, I stock a range of kiteboarding and kitesurfing equipment from brands I use and trust.
For adrenaline seekers and hobbyists alike, kitesurfing (sometimes referred to as kiteboarding) is a brilliant sport. Kitesurfing is very diverse, you can ride on the ocean or a flat body of water like a lake. It combines elements of board sports like surfing, wakeboarding, and snowboarding.
Although the name includes ‘surfing’, you don’t have to rely on big waves. The only thing you need from Mother Nature is the wind and a body of water.
Ride Like The Wind With Reliable Kitesurfing Equipment
I’ve been a watersports enthusiast since my first ride in the 1980s. I started Mainbreak Water Sports in the early 2000s and now stock the best range of kitesurfing equipment from leading brands. If you want to learn how to kitesurf or improve your skills with gear from amazing brands, book a lesson with me in Margaret River.
Frequently Asked Questions
Choosing kitesurfing equipment can make you feel like you’re being pulled in a million different directions; there’s a lot to consider. Your board size will depend on your height and weight. A smaller, lighter person will want to buy a smaller board than someone heavier. I always suggest beginners start with a bigger board as it will be easier to ride.

One of the main things to think about when choosing your kite is where you’ll be kitesurfing the most and what the wind conditions will be. It also depends on whether you want a two or three-kite set-up. Like with boards, your height and weight come into your kite size. A 9m and 12m is a good start for a two-kite set-up for most people.

I’ve loved water sports since the 1980s and run Kiteboarding Australia-accredited kitesurfing lessons in Augusta in WA’s south. Kitesurfing is an exciting, adrenaline kicker of a sport. From my favourite local spots, I’ll teach you how to read the wind and waves and when you’re ready, how to pull some tricks.
I stock a range of brands at Mainbreak Water Sports including Duotone and Airush.
